When Dan Mannix died, the bell ringer at St. Patrick’s Cathedral struck the passing bell, 99 tolls at one minute intervals.

An estimated 200,000 people filed past the coffin of the longtime Archbishop of Melbourne who died in 1963, just four months short of his centenary.
