Barossa Wines
The food flavours of Asia, the Mediterranean and the Pacific Rim merge in Australia, a feisty style aptly named Fusion. Our Tucker has become Cuisine. You find our wines winning awards all over the place too.
Our lighter, more refreshing wine styles which complement the spice- and herb- laden food, are born in the Barossa Valley.
Chardonnay
Just as Cabernet Dauvignon has become the most popular high-quality red-wine grape, Chardonnay has taken the lead for the first-class white wine grape. Our chardonnay is produced from grapes grown on the Barossa Valley floor or the lower foothills. Fabulous with fish.
Riesling
A style that’s totally Australian; strong with passionfruit, tropical fruits and lime flavours. Perfect with Peking duck.
Shiraz
Almost every Barossa Valley winery has a Shiraz or Shiraz blend in Australian style with delicious pepper-berry characteristics and food-friendly companionability. Not everyone can afford the astronomical price tag of Penfolds Grange, so try some more accessible Elderton Shiraz. It works beautifully with lamb tagine, roasted goat, or kangaroo.
Grenache and Mourvedre
Old vine Grenache and Mourvedre are in almost as much demand as old vine Shiraz. These wines are well flavoured and coloured and go well with barbeques.
Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon, transplanted from the Bordeaux region and cultivated in the Valley for wine of dense ruby color and medium to full bois. Often blended with grapes from the Coonawarra.
